Almond

The almond tree (Prunus dulcis) is a fast-growing tree species belonging to the Rosaceae family, characterized by its early entry into production. It is a typically Mediterranean plant, sensitive to late frosts and prolonged water stress, which can negatively affect flowering, fruit set, and kernel development. It flowers very early, between late winter and early spring, with hermaphroditic flowers born on one-year-old shoots. The fruit is a dry drupe consisting of a fleshy hull that dries at maturity, leaving the woody endocarp (shell) that contains the edible seed.

Flowering and fruit set for almonds

During flowering, the almond shows marked sensitivity to water and temperature stress, factors that can reduce pollen viability, fertlity and compromise fruit set.

The use of FOLICIST® supports the metabolic activity of floral tissues and stimulates cell division and differentiation processes. The product promotes the synthesis of endogenous growth substances, improving stigma receptivity, pollen germination, and ovary development even under stress conditions. It also enhances the mobilization of photoassimilates toward the flowers, supporting more effective fertilization.

Fruit enlargement for almonds

During the fruit development phase, the almond requires high metabolic efficiency to support fruit formation and the accumulation of reserve substances. RIZAMMINA® 42 stimulates cell expansion and division processes, promoting nutrient translocation toward developing almonds.

The application of RIZAMMINA® 42 helps achieve more uniform almonds with greater specific weight and superior commercial quality, even under stress conditions.

Tissue strengthening for almonds

During fruit growth and maturation, the almond requires resistant and functionally active tissues to withstand adversities, reducing the risk of damage and physiological disorders.

PROTAMIN® Cu 62 strengthens cell walls and improves tissue cohesion in both fruits and vegetative organs, increasing the plant’s overall resilience. The product contributes to the development of superior-quality fruits.

Environmental stress for almonds

During vegetative growth and fruit development, the almond tree is particularly sensitive to abiotic stress, which can reduce photosynthetic activity and compromise the plant’s metabolic efficiency.

FYLLOTON® promotes recovery from abiotic stress by rapidly rebalancing metabolic activity. Its components help reduce oxidative damage to cell membranes, improving tissue stability and functionality. The application of FYLLOTON® supports vegetative development and contributes to improving both yield quantity and quality.

Post-harvest for almonds

After harvest, the almond tree accumulates the energy reserves needed for vegetative regrowth and the following year’s production. It is therefore essential to promote nutrient movement toward the buds and storage organs. Applied post-harvest, while leaves are still active, NUTRI-GEMMA B-Zn™ provides boron and zinc, offering targeted nutrition to the buds and supporting the accumulation of reserve substances. NUTRI-GEMMA B-Zn™ promotes more uniform and vigorous regrowth, contributing to more regular and fertile flowering in spring.
